The Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) acquired a plot of land overlooking the central park and sought funding to complete the construction of the IUM Sanabil Project. To facilitate the issuance of a Sharia-compliant Sukuk, IUM appointed IUM Holdings Pvt Ltd (IUMH) as the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) tasked with undertaking the required project.
Fathihuge Ali is a real estate project undertaken by IUM Holdings in 2023. As part of the arrangement, IUM Holdings constructed three floors of the building—Ground, First and Second. In return, the Ground and First Floors have been allocated to IUM Holdings for a period of 20 years, while the Second Floor has been allocated to the landowner.
“IUM Holdings Pvt Ltd” is a company established by virtue of section 7 (b) (4) of Islamic University Act (11/2015). The objective of IUM Holdings is to engage in profitable business activities to generate additional income for supporting its shareholder’s educational endeavours.
